Kitchen Project

SFD Kitchen, Before

SFD Kitchen, After
The photos at right are before and after pictures of the kitchen at the South Fire District Firehouse. Prior to the start of this project, the kitchen was 38 years old, the wall oven was not working, and only 5 of 8 burners were working on the stove top unit. This project was completed with a wonderful mix of the talents of our staff, donations, and funds provided by the taxpayers of the district.

Our staff completed the demolition and installation of the cabinets, vent hoods and appliances. Firefighter Lancia painted the cabinets with his personal spray equipment. Firefighter Russo did the carpentry work. District tax payer Frank Galluzzo donated the granite counter tops, backsplash and floor tiles as well as the labor to install them. Electrical work was donated by local resident Jeremy Postolowski.

In the end, we have an almost new kitchen built with long-lasting durable products that should serve our residents and staff for many years to come.

Bathroom Project

Remodeled Public Bathroom
The photo at right is of the remodeled public bathrooms located off our meeting room. The meeting room is used for many public purposes. Prior to the renovation, we were neither ADA compliant nor were we able to accommodate male users without having them cross the apparatus area. This posed a safety hazard for male visitors and usage challenges for those with a disability.

We completed this project with the assistance of the Phil Cacciola and John Parker, from the City of Middletown, providing compliance guidance throughout the project. The granite for the project was received as a donation from local taxpayer Frank Galluzzo. We are happy to report the new bathrooms are up and running and will serve visitors to the district for many years to come.
